Apologies for the something like four day hiatus from any new posts. A hurricane-style storm has left me scrambling in the dark for about 60 hours over the last few days.
So I wanted to post a 1984 Donruss card of Alex Gordon. Certain pictures really capture the look of 1984 Donruss and I think this card fits the bill. I really like this picture and how it looks on the great 1984 Donruss design. More from this set still to come.
Here is a special card for csd, A Paul Konerko 1984 Donruss. It is the landscape version, as an added bonus it features the fans spelling “Paul-Star” in the background. I really wanted Alex Gordon to win that vote but even I will admit Konerko deserved it more. He has better stats and I feel like the Chicago fans did a great job in promoting him for it. Alex Gordon gets major points for his defense as well but Paul Konerko flat out deserved to be in the All-Star game.
This is a card I made a while ago. I made it the same time I created the “missing link” George Brett card from the same set. This card was made simply because I thought the picture was great.
Quick thoughts on the Royals; They won today breaking a tough couple game losing streak where Soria was horrible. Billy Butler continues to hammer the ball and not get enough credit. Chris Getz gave a glimpse of what the Royals hope he can be, great defensively and use his speed at the plate. Alex Gordon looks to be growing into a comfort zone in the leadoff spot. I think Gordon in the leadoff spot could be really interesting for the rest of this season.
